FinOps in Practice: Strategy & Execution Beyond Certification

About the Course

This course will fully prepare you to pass the FinOps Certified Practitioner exam, covering all the foundational knowledge, terminology, and core practices you’ll be tested on.

But more importantly—this course goes far beyond what the exam requires.

While certifications are useful for validation, this training is designed to equip you with real-world strategic and operational skills you’ll actually use:

  • How to read a cloud bill like a strategist

  • How to run a FinOps pilot project that builds internal momentum

  • How to influence engineering, finance, and leadership

  • And how to embed FinOps into the daily rhythms of your team or organization

So yes—you’ll be ready for the exam.

But more than that, you’ll be ready for the work.

What You'll Learn

You’ll walk away from this course with:

  • A clear, strategic understanding of FinOps beyond buzzwords

  • The ability to interpret and act on cloud billing data across AWS, Azure, and GCP

  • A practical framework for applying FinOps lifecycle: Inform, Optimize, Operate

  • Insight into key stakeholder roles—and how to influence across teams

  • Confidence to lead cost reviews, drive accountability, and support innovation without waste

  • Judgment-based case study thinking—not just automation and dashboards

  • Tools to scale FinOps across business units, align it with strategic planning, and make it stick

This course prepares you to do the real work of FinOps—not just manage spend, but enable faster, better, more aligned decisions in the cloud.

Meet Your Instructor
Saeed

Cloud Strategist | FinOps Advisor | 15+ Years in Global Tech

I’m Saeed—a cloud engineer turned strategic advisor with over 15 years of professional experience across academia, telecom, and enterprise tech.

For the last four years, I’ve worked hands-on with GCP and AWS environments, design, deploy and manage cloud infrastructure. I've been helping engineering teams not only optimize their cloud spend, but align it with product priorities and business outcomes. Before that, I led teams, researched 5G networks, managed infrastructure, and taught computer science at the university level.

I’ve worked with engineers, analysts, and C-level leaders in different countries and industries. And if I’ve learned anything, it’s this: cloud cost management isn’t about tools—it’s about people, alignment, and judgment.

That’s why I built this course. Not just to help you pass a FinOps certification exam (though you will), but to help you think like an advisor, lead with clarity, and make FinOps part of how your organization grows.
